Max Resnik
Multi-Media Journalist
Max has been with Indiana's NewsCenter since October of 2010. He graduated in July of 2010 from the E.W. Scripps School of Journalism at Ohio University. Max is one of Indiana's NewsCenter's MMJs or Multi-Media Journalists.
The thing that inspired Max to want to enter into journalism was actually one of the most defining moments in our country's history-- 9/11. He was captivated by then ABC anchor Peter Jennings as he watched Peter grab a hold of a truly unprecedented situation to command the audience's attention and guide them through what at the time seemed unimaginable.
Max was just three weeks away from is 14th birthday when 9/11 occurred, and since that moment has felt that broadcast journalism was his calling. For Max it is the ability to tell an individual's story to an audience of people just like that individual. That is why Max sees local news coverage as extremely important to a community. That is also why Max came to Fort Wayne and joined Indiana's NewsCenter. A city much like his hometown of Cleveland, OH, Max sought the blue collar mentality in both himself and the individuals whose stories he will tell. And like Max, Indiana's NewsCenter shares that same passion and understanding of local news coverage in a community.
Prior to landing in Fort Wayne, Max's first experience was catching Political Radar with Melissa Long. After seeing that INC had some original programming center around political debate, it was like a moth to a flame.
Max's favorite thing to report on is politics. He is passionate about national politics and how the decisions in Washington affect the Hoosiers in the Summit City. Max also enjoys doing stories on consumer protection and is always looking for a fresh idea on how we can help each other stay safe when purchasing any kinds of goods or services.
At Ohio University Max was President of Alpha Epsilon Pi Fraternity where in addition to having some fun, he participated in philanthropies that received state-wide recognition. For his philanthropic work, Max received Greek Man of they Year in 2009. He helped to create and was also Vice President of the Israeli education and advocacy group Bobcats for Israel.
A native of Cleveland, Max is a diehard fan of the Cleveland sports teams, especially the Browns. He handles losing well and is always praying for a winner. Max is also a huge sushi and seafood fan and just loves food in general. He is always looking for a good restaurant and loves trying to create his own dishes. Suggestions are welcome.
Feel free to follow Max on twitter @meresnik. Links to incnow.tv can be found there and Max will update his twitter daily with the stories he is working on. He also rambles about things outside of the newsroom like current events, politics, sports and just about anything else that pops in his head.
Most of all, Max is pumped to be in the Summit City and can't wait to earn the title of Hoosier.
