She co-anchors 21Alive Morning News on WPTA and produces and anchors 21Alive at Noon. Linda also presents a monthly special report called "The Extra Mile" on 21Alive. And, she enjoys working with several area non-profit associations.
Linda served as a news intern at NBC33 while in college. She joined 21Alive/NBC33 in the summer of 1988 as a producer and reporter before anchoring the morning and noon newscasts and then moving into the evening anchor chair in May, 1992. She has also served as a newsroom manager. Her return to mornings and noon took place in August, 2012.
Linda has received several industry awards from the Indiana News Photographers Association and from the Indiana Associated Press including a 2005 AP First Place for her series, "A Gift for Peggy" along with 2007 and 2008 AP Honorable Mentions. She is a Poynter Institute honors graduate, a 2004 “Future 40” award recipient from the Fort Wayne Business Journal and a first place Indiana Hospital and Health Association award-winner for “A Gift for Peggy.” Readers of the Fort Wayne Journal Gazette voted Linda "Best TV Station Personality" in 2004, 2007 and 2008. The “Whatzup” Readers Poll named Linda favorite television personality in 2004, 2005 and 2006.
Linda enjoys broadcast journalism because it's a "people business." She chose her career because of that and because of the visual images that go hand in hand in delivering broadcast news, not to mention the immediacy of the medium and the technology that changes every day. She enjoys meeting new people and the variety in her job. No two days are the same.
Fort Wayne is home for Linda, her husband and son. They love it here. She is originally from Peru, Indiana. Several of her family members live there. She grew up performing in the Peru Amateur Circus spending many years flying on a trapeze! Her interests include reading, sports with her family, circuses and walking.
