Eric Clabaugh

By Peter Neumann

Eric Clabaugh is one of Northeast Indiana's new-age multimedia journalists, adept behind the camera and in front.

Using digital state of the art equipment, Eric reports a variety of stories for Indiana's NewsCenter broadcasts on 21Alive and NBC33, as well as for www.indianasnewscenter.com. "The cutting-edge tools we have only here at Indiana's NewsCenter change the way we report the news," says Clabaugh, "and the viewer gets the news faster, and these tools enable us to tell the stories in ways only we can."

He joined Indiana's News Center in August of 2003, starting as a production assistant operating studio cameras and master control. We quickly recognized his special skills and so in June, 2006, Eric became Fort Wayne's first multimedia video journalist.

He's interviewed politicians on the stump to be President, covered health scares, community events.

Eric began his career in media working for WJFX-HOT 107.9 as an on air personality. That job helped him pay his way through college, earning a degree in audio-visual production at Saint Francis University in Fort Wayne.

Eric is from this area, growing up in Roanoke, Indiana where he attended Roanoke Elementary, Riverview Middle and Huntington North High School.

Eric and his new wife Michelle live in Fort Wayne. In his free time Eric enjoys spending time outdoors and playing sports. And we should mention he is a fan of the Colts, Notre Dame -- and his beloved Saint Francis Cougars. He hasn't missed any of their football games in four seasons.
