Ryan Elijah

By Bill Schneider

Ryan co-anchors the morning news and directs a weekly consumer/investigative piece called "In Your Corner". He also hosts "Impact", a 30-minute program that focuses on issues that impact the community and has hosted political debates for Indiana's NewsCenter.

Ryan returned to his hometown from Jacksonville, Florida where he spent five years as the Sports Director at the CBS and Fox affiliates. While in Florida, he worked with the NFL’s Jacksonville Jaguars, traveling with the team as host of their TV programming and as sideline reporter for the Jaguars radio network. Ryan also served as a sideline reporter for NFL games on the Fox Network. During his time in Jacksonville, he was appointed by Jacksonville's Mayor to serve on the "Mayor's Council". The council worked closely with local and state government agencies to attract visitors to the North Florida area and help direct community events.

Before moving to Florida, Ryan was an AP Award winning sports anchor and reporter at Indiana's NewsCenter. He still has fond memories of (and some bruises from) competing with viewers in the popular ‘I Challenge Ryan’ segment. During the weekly feature he competed with athletes ranging from baseball hall of famer Tony Gwynn to bowling against an 85-year-old Grandma.

Ryan and his wife Tasha have two boys, Jacob and Luke and a collie named Sadie. He attended Liberty University, before graduating from Anderson University where he studied Mass Communications and Political Science. He was also a member of the University's baseball and golf teams. Ryan is active in his church and hosts many charity functions throughout the year. He also coaches high school basketball in his spare time. If you have a story idea for Ryan, please contact him at the station.
