Huntington County Habitat for Humanity invites everyone to attend its Silver Anniversary Gala on Saturday, March 9, at 5:00 p.m., at LaFontaine Golf Club in Huntington. The theme is “Cruising into the Future,” and Jeremy Nix will be the master of ceremonies.

Local businesses supporting this event are Wells Fargo Bank, Event Sponsor, and Beacon Credit Union, Event Co-sponsor. There is an opening for one more Event Co-Sponsor. Local artist Rose Meldrum created the artwork that will be displayed on the front of the event program.

A silent auction and a live auction, with Steve Ness as auctioneer, will provide for an entertaining evening. Items available for bidding have been donated by businesses in Huntington, Fort Wayne, Indianapolis, Lafayette, and South Bend. Donations already received include a car detailing at Pace Auto, autographed Indiana University and Purdue University basketballs, a homemade dinner, plus admissions to regional museums, plays, and concerts.

The Gala will also be an opportunity to meet several Habitat homeowners and hear their stories.

Purchase “passage” on the Gala Cruise for only $25.00, which includes a meal and dessert. To make your reservation, contact Huntington County Habitat at 260.356.7425 or info@hchabitat.org, or through a member of the Habitat Board of Directors: Joe Burgess, Norrie Friesen, Adam Fusselman, Justin Wall, Jo Ann Burnau, Monique Dennis, Pam Felix, Karen Hinshaw, Sue Rumple, Jeff Teusch, Sue Wilhelm, Dick Wymer, Bob Zahm, and Stan Denbo.

Funds raised at the Gala will be used to construct and/or rehab homes for the families who are currently working their way through the application process and preparing to become homeowners. Habitat is working to increase its ability to meet the need for simple, decent, energy-efficient, and affordable homes in Huntington County.
