It Is Well With My Soul (program affiliate of African/African American Historical Society) presents the following upcoming events:

Courageous Conversations about Race: Book Discussion Part 1 of 2
Event is hosted by It Is Well With My Soul (program affiliate of African/African American Historical Society). Read the book by Glenn E. Singleton/Curtis Linton and join us in a discussion of the strategies presented. Facilitated by Mary Arnold Scwartz, Coordinator, The Writing Center, Indiana University-Purdue University Fort Wayne. Chapters 1-7 will be the focus of Part 1. Chapters 8- 13 will be the focus of Part 2 on Thursday, June 21, 7:00-8:30 pm at the downtown Allen County Public Library.

F.U.N. (Folks Uniting Nowadays) Friday - International Students: Challenges, Barriers, and Opportunities – Event is hosted by It Is Well With My Soul (program affiliate of African/African American Historical Society). Learn about the international student market, statistics, challenges, barriers, and opportunities. Presentation will included discussion of immersive experiences, recruitment, admissions, learning, funding, and degree persistence for the international student. Presenter: Diana Jackson-Davis, Assistant Director of Diversity Affairs and International Student Advisor, Ivy Tech Community College Northeast.
Friday, June 9, 1:00-2:30 pm, Link’s Wonderland

F.U.N. originated with Study Circles Alumni in 2001. The focus is informal social gatherings of interracial participants, focusing on friendship and increased cultural awareness and understanding. Cost to attend: 50 cents will be added to your food bill for room setup. Lunch is available ranging in price from $6 to $10.

Cultures of Color: Skin Color and Colorism – Facilitated Dialogue on the dynamics, issues, and impact of colorism, shadeism, and skin color preferences across cultures. Media portrayals, research, historical events will be showcased and interwoven in the discussion.
