Event Description

February 5, 2014 Updated Feb 12, 2014 at 2:30 PM EDT

The first half of the concert will feature IPFW Concerto/Aria competition winner Jason Simon on piano, performing the 2nd and 3rd movements of Maurice Ravel’s Piano Concerto in G Major. Then the Community Orchestra and IPFW Opera Ensemble will collaborate on Mozart’s L’Impresario. The comedic opera portrays the misadventures of Frank, an entrepreneur, as he struggles to pull together a company of actors riddled with eccentricities and rivalries while dancing around possible financial ruin. Help and hope are found in the form of a banker who asks that in return Frank pretend to engage his lover, Madam Pfiel. Jealousy and rivalries erupt as the comedy ensues.
