Local neurologist to discuss rehabilitation for stroke patients, Wednesday, May 16.

May is Stroke Awareness Month, and as part of this national observance, Rehabilitation Hospital of Fort Wayne is hosting a free presentation Wednesday, May 16, called “What’s New in the Diagnosis and Treatment of Stroke?” Dr. Thomas Banas, a neurologist with Fort Wayne Neurology and medical director of Rehabilitation Hospital of Fort Wayne, will be the keynote speaker and answer questions from the audience.

Dr. Banas will cover:

• How to recognize stroke symptoms and when to call for help
• How to reduce stroke risk factors
• Updates on treatment options for stroke

This hour-long presentation will take place between 6:30 and 7:30 p.m. Registration will begin at 6:15. Light refreshments will be served. Rehabilitation Hospital of Fort Wayne is located at 7970 W. Jefferson Blvd., on the Lutheran Hospital campus.
