SCAN, Inc. (Stop Child Abuse and Neglect) is gearing up for its 28th Annual Brown Bag Lunch Fundraiser featuring pasta and meatballs and Casaburo salads provided by Casa Ristoranti Italiano.

The event is 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Wed., March 20.

Casa chefs, along with nearly 200 community volunteers, plus SCAN employees, will prepare and pack 2,800 lunches at the Fort Wayne Masonic Temple, 216 E. Washington Blvd. Lunches must be pre-ordered, and orders will be taken until all 2,800 lunches are sold. The public is encouraged to order early, as lunches sold out a week prior to the event in 2012.

Cost of a pasta and meatballs lunch with a side salad is $9, or $180 for a family style order that serves 20. A large Casaburo salad lunch is $7, or $140 for a family style order. All lunches include bread and butter and a sweet treat. Family style orders also include a sheet cake donated by Walnut Hill Catering and Events.

Lunches can be picked up at the Masonic Temple, or free delivery is available for five or more individual lunches or for one family style order. Delivery must be within one mile of the Interstate 69 and 469 boundaries or no further than Huntertown to the north.

Phone orders will be accepted on these days/times only: 10 a.m.-3 p.m. Feb. 19 and 20. Call 750-8032 or 750-8033. All orders and delivery times will be verified by March 15.
