More than 18,000 plastic duckies will race to the finish in the Weigand Construction Duck Race to Benefit SCAN. Sponsors of the first 26 ducks – one for each year of the race - to cross the finish line win great prizes, all donated and valued at $100 or more. The first place winner is guaranteed $5,000 cash courtesy of the presenting sponsor, Weigand Construction. In addition to the first place cash prize, the first duck to float across the finish line will be eligible for a chance to win the $1,000,000 Chance Cash Prize, Payable as a 40-Year Annuity. Second place will win $1,000 cash courtesy of Beacon Credit Union and third place will receive $500 cash donated by Strahm Building Solutions. Duck sponsors do not have to be present at the race to win, but we encourage the community to join us on Race Day, June 21 along the St. Joseph River in Johnny Appleseed Park!

Cost to sponsor a duck is $5, the same price of sponsorship 26 years ago. “Duck Deals” enable sponsors to purchase in multiple ducks at a discounted price. Duck Deals are: 1 for $5, 5 for $20, 13 for $50, 25 for $90 and 40 for $140.

Get your Duck Deal today! More than 25 local businesses have duck certificates on hand, ready for purchase. A full listing of where you can buy your ducks, all 26 prizes, details on sponsorships and official gaming rules are available on SCAN’s website at www.scanfw.org/duckrace

This year’s fundraising goal for the Duck Race is the highest yet at $168,500! To date, the agency has raised just over $70,000. Proceeds from this signature fundraiser underwrite SCAN’s programs and services that protect children from abuse and neglect in 19 northeast and north central Indiana counties; 97 cents of every dollar raised goes directly toward programming. In 2013, SCAN impacted the lives of more than 15,500 children and adults.
