Event Description

November 19, 2012 Updated Nov 19, 2012 at 9:51 AM EDT

Since 1947 U.S. Marines have been looking after America’s less fortunate children at Christmas through their Toy for Tots program. By distributing shiny new toys, Marines and Marine Toys for Tots Civilian Coordinators deliver a message of “Hope” and let children know that someone cares The objectives of the Shiny new toy includes building/restoring self-esteem and eliminating the “second class citizen” syndrome that is associated with “second hand” toys.

Through the Marine Toys for Tots, Marines and civilian coordinators demonstrate that they care about others and are doing something about it. The Marine program demonstrates respect, consideration of others and a spirit of caring. These are qualities that today’s children should be exposed.

The Marine Toys for Tots Toy Drive has kicked-off in our area and will run through Dec. 13, 2012.

We are in need of new toys for boys and girls ages newborn-2 years and 10- 14 years. Each year we run short of toys for certain age groups and we depend on monetary donations to help us purchase those items that we are in need of.
There are many toy drop sites where a toy donation can be made. All this information is on our website.

Possible ways to support our program are:
Donate a New Toy
Make a cash donation
Volunteer in warehouse(response has been great this year-(NO NEED FOR MORE)
Provide service support
