World AIDS Day Week Celebration
Monday, November 26th through Wednesday, December 5th

From Monday, November 26, 2012 to December 5, 2012, the AIDS Task Force along with the World AIDS Day partners will be hosting events throughout Fort Wayne. These events are designed to raise community awareness about HIV and AIDS, fight stigma and discrimination that surround HIV and AIDS, and to remind people that HIV and AIDS have not gone away. Several organizations and schools have agreed to participate on some level in recognition World AIDS Day Week. Attached is the World AIDS Day calendar for the week long events.

World AIDS Day is important in that people from around the world come together to bring attention to the global AIDS epidemic. This year marks the 24th anniversary of World AIDS Day and is designed to increase awareness, fight prejudice, and improve educational efforts in stopping the spread of HIV and AIDS in our community. The day was envisioned as an opportunity for people everywhere to demonstrate both the importance attached to the fight against AIDS and their solidarity and unity in this effort. World AIDS Day has become an important event in that it reminds people that HIV and AIDS has not gone away.
