Event Description
The concert will have a Veteran’s Day theme, and will feature a special arrangement of music from “Victory at Sea” by Richard Rogers. The cornet section will be featured on “Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy”. The beautiful “Ashokan Farewell” will be presented. This piece is remembered from the Ken Burns “Civil War” television series. Traditional marches, “Begin the Beguine” and other pieces round out the program.
Special guests for this concert will be the Aldersgate United Methodist Handbell Choir under the direction of Marlane Sturm.
All veterans present will be recognized with the playing of “Armed Forces Salute”
Old Crown Brass was founded in 2007 and has become one of Fort Wayne’s premier performing ensembles. The band does about 8-10 performances a year and is in great demand throughout Northeast Indiana and Northwest Ohio. This 38-piece brass and percussion ensemble is made up of members of the Fort Wayne Philharmonic, local music educators and freelance musicians.
The band is under the direction of T.J. Faur and Tony Alessandrini.
Admission is free donations are encouraged
A portion of the donations will go to the Aldersgate United Methodist Church.
