Stress and its symptoms can affect people physically, emotionally and spiritually. Although stress can’t be eliminated from individual lives, there are ways to work with it.
Victory Noll Center presents the program "Wellness Practices for Self-Care," a three-class workshop beginning November 4 that teaches simple yet effective practices that involve quiet reflection, calming breath work, gentle movements of T'ai Chi and yoga, and more. All the practices are flexible enough to accommodate women and men of all ages and physical abilities. Casual, comfortable clothes are recommended.
The facilitator for the program is Jan Parker, who has completed the curriculum and certificate of completion in Training in Healing and Transformation presented by CAPACITAR, Inc. in collaboration with The Center To BE, Inc., in Milwaukee, Wisc. She also has an M.A. in Pastoral Studies. Jan is also an accredited T’ai Chi Chih teacher. She has been teaching wellness practices for churches, schools, retreat centers, and service and healthcare organizations.
Classes may be attended on either Monday evenings or Tuesday mornings beginning Nov. 4. Monday classes are from 5:15 to 6:30 p.m. on Nov. 4, Nov. 11 and Nov. 18. Tuesday morning classes are from 10 to 11:15 a.m. on Nov. 5, Nov. 12 and Nov. 19.
The cost is $35 for all three classes. Registration deadline is Oct. 30. Make checks payable to Jan Parker.
