The Deer Park Irish Pub will be hosting its fourth annual Craft Beer Festival, Saturday, October 5, 1 to 5 p.m. The festival has been organized to provide a forum for nationally-known craft brewers to celebrate their art and tradition with local beer enthusiasts, says Deer Park Pub owner Tony Henry.

“We’ll be building on the success of our first three craft beer festivals,” Henry says. “Only at our annual craft beer festival will Fort Wayne have so many of the country’s finest craft beers tapped in one place, at one time.”

Craft beer connoisseurs will enjoy four hours of beer tasting from a selection of more than 50 craft and home brews, Henry said, adding “Beer lovers will think they’ve died and gone to beer heaven.” Among the dozens of well-known (if not aptly named) micro-brews on tap will be “Arrogant Bastard,” “Bell’s Oktoberfest,” “Centennial,” and “Okto Festival Ale,” Henry says. The microbreweries represented include Bell’s Brewery of Kalamazoo, MI.; Three Floyds of Munster, IN.; Bloomington, Indiana’s Upland Brewery; Founders Brewery of Grand Rapids, MI., Widmer Brothers of Portland, OR. and many more.

In addition to the barrels of craft beers, Riegel’s Pipe & Tobacco will be hosting a cigar table featuring fine, imported cigars. “After all,” Henry quips, “what better way to complement a fine craft beer than with a good imported cigar?” Local Food Trucks will be present as well for the occasion.

Admission to the event is $25 in advance or $30 at the door. Henry said proceeds from the festival will go to the Jerome & Marganelle Henry Foundation for Neighborhood Health Clinics. The foundation helps provide health care to the working poor.

Music will be provided by five bands each providing 1 hour of music covering an assortment of genres.

Tickets are available at the Deer Park Irish Pub, all Fort Wayne area Belmont Beverages locations or online at http://deerparkcraftbeerfest.brownpapertickets.com. For more information, contact Tony Henry, Deer Park Irish Pub, at (260) 437-8254.
