Two workshops on autism disorders are open to the general public. The workshop on June 17 is about autism and educators. Dr. Rama Cousik , assistant professor at IPFW, and Julie House, Autism Team: Fort Wayne Community Schools, will be speaking at the June 17 workshop.

The workshop on June 18 will discuss autism and the caregiver. At this workshop on the 18 th, Sue Christman, Easter Seals ARC, will talk about waivers and insurance; and Stephanie Furnas, family therapist, will talk about parent self-care. These workshops also include community resource materials. Registration is required for both workshops.

The diagnosis of students with Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD) is at an all-time high in the US and especially in northeast Indiana. These workshops are for educators, professionals, parents, or caregivers in need of information about ASD and what strategies and methods are successful for K-12 ASD students.
