Arts Place, Inc. will offer Make a Mural, a unique Arts in the Parks Class for children led by Dan Keyes. Students will be working on a permanent installation at Coldwater Park. Three different class sessions will be offered per day from June 23rd- 28th.

Keyes has been a muralist and faux painter for 25 years, and recently stated, “Making a mural for a community is always a worthy endeavor, as it reflects the heart and soul of that community.” Originally from Minnesota, he has his degree in Theater, has written and directed several plays, and was recently the Drama Director at New Bremen High School. “Working with students is a blast. When they realize that they have helped to make something significant (like a mural), it builds their confidence. Sometimes they didn’t think they could do what they just did.”This will be Dan’s second mural in Coldwater. The first may be seen on the side of Coldwater High School.

Students interested in taking one or more sessions of the multi-day Make a Mural class do not have to reside in the Coldwater community to participate in the Arts in the Parks class. Those interested in the Make a Mural class or any of the other Arts in the Parks offerings can pick up a brochure at their local Arts Place center, visit www.artsland.org for more information, or call 260-726-4809 (toll-free 866-539-9911).
