Lung cancer may not come to mind when you think of women’s cancers, but the disease takes the lives of more women each year than breast, ovarian and uterine cancer combined.
Champion the lung cancer cause by registering today for the second annual Free to Breathe Fort Wayne 5K Run/Walk and 1-Mile Memory Walk on September 8 at Shoaff Park.
The inspirational event will bring the community together to raise funds that will fuel groundbreaking research necessary for making the dramatic breakthroughs in early detection and treatment of lung cancer that can save lives.
1:00 p.m. - Registration & check-in
2:00 p.m. - Opening rally
2:15 p.m. - 5K run/walk start
2:30 p.m. - 1-mile memory walk
3:15 p.m. - Tot trot
3:30 p.m. - Closing rally

Event Day (beginning at 1:00 p.m.)
All online and mail-in registrants who attend are guaranteed an event T-shirt. A limited quantity of T-shirts and sizes will be available for those registering on event day.

The top three individual fundraisers and top three fundraising teams (based on totals as of 5 p.m. on Sept. 5) will be acknowledged on event day. Fundraising will remain open through Oct. 23.
Following the 5K and 1-mile walk, there will be a Tot Trot and silent auction. A DJ will be providing music throughout the course of the day.

For your convenience, advance packet pick-up will be available Saturday, September 7 from 10 a.m. - 2 p.m. at:

Awards will be presented to the top overall male and female finishers in the 5K and the first three male and female finishers in each of the following age groups: 12 & younger, 13-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69 and 70+.
Parking is available at the park near Conklin Pavillion.
