Sweetwater, the third largest retailer of music instruments and pro-audio in the U.S., will present GearFest ‘13, a celebration of musicians and the instruments and equipment they use to make music, on Friday, June 21st from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., and Saturday, June 22nd from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., at 5501 US Hwy 30 W, Fort Wayne, Indiana. GearFest is free and open to the public.
Part trade show, part entertainment event, part flea market, and part musicians’ toyland, GearFest offers something for everyone!
There will also be an indoor/outdoor festival featuring live music, delicious food, amazing prizes, and lots of fun for the entire family. This year’s expo is bigger than ever, with two days full of dozens of informative workshops and seminars, scores of manufacturer exhibits, musical performances, and special surprises!
If GearFest's various attractions aren't reason enough to join the fun, how about the coincidence that June 21st is also National Music Day? National Music Day was established by the National Association of Music Merchants, and is dedicated to the celebration of music, musicians, and joy in creating music. Making music has been proven to enhance communities by improving student academic performance, encouraging healthy relationships, and serving as an outlet for stress relief. This inspiring art form has played an important role in the lives of many, and there is no greater festivity than GearFest to celebrate National Music Day along with thousands of fellow music enthusiasts!
Sweetwater Founder and President Chuck Surack remarked, “We are proud to offer this event every year. It continues to grow, and there’s literally nothing like it elsewhere in the country. There’s certainly nothing this big, with so many great attractions, that is also free and open to the public. That’s why people come to GearFest, from throughout the Midwest, and from around the entire country.
