Event Description

March 11, 2014 Updated Mar 11, 2014 at 7:49 AM EDT

“The interest toward rivers and riverfronts is a conversation that must happen at many
different levels…” said Dan Wire, Interim Executive Director of the Tri-State Watershed Alliance, “…by
virtue of the many faces and interests regarding the rivers the discussion must involve restoration and
water quality along with development. These are all potential economic boosts to the area as well.”

Dan is one of the key figures concerning river restoration and is a part of the RiverFront Fort Wayne Task
Force. Dan will be presenting information on the River District Master Plan process. The River District
Master Plan process is an excellent opportunity to develop awareness about our shared water resource
concerns within both urban and rural communities.

The USDA Spring Planting Intentions Report will be fresh off the newswire just hours before the 69th
Annual Allen County Soil and Water Conservation District Meeting. As a part of this announcement,
market analysts David Kohli and Jon Cavanaugh and Midwest Farm Matters program host, Rob Winters
will be on hand to interpret the report.

The Allen County Soil and Water Conservation District Annual Meeting will be held on the farm of Tim
and Deanna Rorick at 4710 S. Webster Rd., New Haven, IN on March 31 at 6:30 p.m. Dinner is
provided at no charge but donations are accepted. No reservations are necessary but are appreciated.
