Fabric Fun Dye Workshop (Grades K-8)
Have fun with tie dye, batik, felting and more! Students will learn about several different color application techniques as they create a t-shirt, tote bag, pillowcase and other items in this fun class! All supplies provided. Class will be taught by IPFW art education majors Morgan McClarnon and Jessica McNulty.

Drawing/Painting (Grades K-8)
This combination class will be customized for each age group and will teach perspective and value. Students will learn about landscape, still life, watercolor techniques and more! All supplies provided. Class will be taught by IPFW art education majors Morgan McClarnon and Jessica McNulty.

Metalsmithing Basics (Grades 9-12)
Learn basic fabricating techniques to create rings and pendants using copper and silver. Study silver brazing, metal stretching and forming by hand, using polished hammers and casting. All skill levels are welcome and all tools, studio equipment and materials are included. Please note that students will use metalsmithing equipment such as acetylene torches, hammers, saws and files. The activities involved in this class will be under the direct supervision of IPFW staff, and the safety of participants will be our primary concern. However, there are certain risks involved when using the equipment necessary for a class of this nature. Because of this, parents will be required to sign a waiver, release and hold harmless document as a condition of enrolling their child in this class. This class is taught by IPFW fine arts faculty member Robert Schroeder. Bring a sack lunch and drink to class each day.

Drawing for High School Students (Grades 9-12)
This drawing fundamentals class will introduce students to the mechanics and principles of drawing, combining drafting and freehand methods, and will provide the necessary skills to allow students to develop ability and confidence using the language of two-dimensional drawing. The materials, methods and the formal ideas of perspective and the illusion of creating a three-dimensional space on a two-dimensional plane occupy the majority of this class. All work will be done from observation. Specific techniques will include measuring, positive/negative space, line, shape, volume and various methods of controlling value to create form. This class will focus on value, so we will use only pencil and charcoal. All supplies provided. Class will be taught by IPFW department of fine arts professor John Hrehov.

Introductory Photography Skills (Grades 7-12)
Want to learn the basic principles of photography, basic camera settings and functions and how they affect the image? Basic principles of lighting and composition will be discussed and how to apply this knowledge to create better images. Challenging assignments will help you apply the knowledge you’ve acquired. Bring a basic 35mm camera or standard digital camera and a blank CD to the first class. This class is taught by IPFW VCD continuing lecturer and owner of Henri’s Photography Studio Jim Gabbard.

Advanced Photography Skills (Grades 7-12)
This class takes students to the next level. Learn Photoshop applications and manipulating photos and advanced photography principles. If you’ve taken the introductory class, move on up to this creative advanced class! Challenging assignments will help you apply the knowledge you’ve acquired. Bring a basic 35mm camera or standard digital camera and a blank CD to the first class. This class is taught by IPFW VCD continuing lecturer and owner of Henri’s Photography Studio Jim Gabbard.

Creative Digital Photography Art (Grades 9-12)
Look at the world around you with an artistic and conceptual perspective! Learn to think out of the box and create photos that can be used for more than images saved on your phone or computer. There will be a take-home project completed during this class that will use your photography as art! We will be photographing the world around us and may have the opportunity to work with live models or still objects in a studio. You also will learn the art of critiquing your work and the work of classmates, as we explore the many ways to see our photography. Bring a basic 35mm or standard digital camera (know the basics of it before class starts) and your laptop. You will be emailed instructions on downloading a free editing software program prior to the beginning of class and you also will be given instruction on printing 15-30 4x6 photos for use in class. Come to class prepared to have fun photographing the world around you. This class will be taught by professional photographer Tanya Myers.

Manga Mania (Grades 6-12)
This fast-paced class will teach students the basics of the Japanese anime-style of cartooning by honing drawing skills. Learn the history of manga, the basics of graphic layout, design and copy. Students will receive the necessary tools to maintain drawing and writing skills. All skill levels welcome. Materials included. This class will be taught by IPFW fine arts faculty member Allen Etter.

Photoshop: Creating Digital Images (Grades 6-12)
Understand the tools and potential of Photoshop by manipulating photos and producing your own CD covers, book jackets or movie posters. Create digital images based on your own drawings and creativity, anything from comic book style to abstract "digital paintings." This class will be taught by IPFW fine arts faculty member Allen Etter.

Make Your Own Movie Using Adobe Premier (Grades 6-12)
Explore the use of Adobe Premiere to edit still images as well as video. Explore sequential editing, cutting footage to music and cutting movie trailers. This class will be taught by IPFW fine arts faculty member Allen Etter. Please bring a 2GB memory stick (thumb drive) to the first class.
