Event Description
This is the 40th Anniversary of the Onion Days Festival.
The town of Wolf Lake is the oldest town in Noble County. Onion Days got it's name because back in the early 1900's most of Wolf Lake was comprised of onion fields. The townspeople would work the months of June and July harvesting all of the onion fields. The onions were hauled by horse and buggy to the train depot that was located in Kimmel, Indiana, about 4 miles north of Wolf Lake. At the end of the harvest, the people of Wolf Lake held a celebration. In 1972, the first official Onion Days festival took place.
We have everything Onion that you could imagine, there is an Onion Ring booth, Onion Burgers, we have a Onion Growing contest as well.
If you have any questions contact Kelli Brenneke, Onion Days President at (260)515-8186.
