On September 26th and 27th, 2014, the Midwest Pet Refuge located in Portland, Indiana is hosting a free community family fun event called Pack The Park! This two day event will be held at the Hudson Family Park which is located at 509 S. Wayne Street, Portland, Indiana.

Featuring five bands, a hog roast, wine & beer garden, kids activities, a cornhole tournament, vendors, a bake sale and more, Pack The Park is an event to raise awareness about the Midwest Pet Refuge’s projects and goals. It will also serve as a fundraiser for Midwest Pet Refuge to fund these projects to help pets in need, educate the public and connect homeless pets, people and resources.

Pack The Park will kick off on Friday night the 26th with the rockabilly band Grovehill. Grovehill will perform a rockin’ variety of tunes from 7-11pm, there will be a wine & beer garden with beverages and food available to purchase.

On Saturday the 27th, the activities listed above will begin at 10 a.m. and run throughout the day until 8 p.m. with 4 more bands performing.

Garhett and Matthew Blackford
11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
These brothers play a lighter set of singer/songwriter covers & a few originals mixed with some praise and worship.

Dave Liles Band
1:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.
The Dave Liles Band is a HIGH ENERGY country band

Chillbillies with Suny D & Hairbal
3:30 p.m. to 5pm.
They are an acoustic rock group who play everything from Creedence to Alice in Chains as well as current rock hits.

Quincy’s Brass Band
5 p.m. to 8 p.m.
Quincy’s Brass performs a large variety of music from top 40 cover tunes to Big Band and Jazz from the 1940’s to today.

There is also a fishing pond and dog park located at the venue.
