Summit Equestrian Center (SEC), a non-profit equestrian center, is now accepting registrations for riding lessons for people with disabilities and other riders for the fall 2014 session.
Group and private lessons are available for all skill levels, beginner to advance. The first fall session starts August 25 and continues until October 13. The second fall session starts October 27 and continues until December 15. Leadline lessons are $25 per lesson or $180 for each 8-week session. Group lessons are $35 each or $250 for each 8-week session. Private lessons are $45 each or $325 for each 8-week session. Summit Equestrian Center is the only stable in northeast Indiana offering hippotherapy sessions. One-hour hippotherapy sessions facilitated by physical therapist Rita Spears are $80 and are scheduled by calling SEC.

Founded in 2010, the mission of the non-profit organization is to: improve the lives of children and adults of all abilities through interaction with horses.
SEC provides year-round therapeutic riding lessons, recreational riding lessons and private/special events. The stable specializes in providing quality equine assisted activities and therapies for children and adults with physical, cognitive or emotional special needs. SEC’s therapeutic riding program incorporates education and exercise, utilizing the beneficial movement of the horse to increase physical mobility and expand range of motion while learning riding skills. In addition to equestrian skills, riders also increase focus, attention span, mindfulness, cooperation, teamwork, self-sufficiency, independence and life skills.
SEC is a member center of the Professional Association of Therapeutic Horsemanship International (PATH).
