Lions & Tigers and Beer, Black Pine! Black Pine Animal Sanctuary in Albion announces its annual beer tasting and whole-roasted pulled pork dinner.
Lions & Tigers and Beer, Black Pine! will take place on Saturday, October 5 from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. at the Sanctuary and offers the opportunity to enjoy a variety of beer samples, music provided by DJ TKO, and a silent auction while touring the sanctuary to observing nearly 100 animals, and talking with their keepers. A fresh roasted pulled pork dinner will also be served .

Guests will meet the newest arrivals at the sanctuary, two tigers surrendered by their owner in Ohio on Labor Day. Three-year-olds Top Cat and Millie bring Black Pine's number of tigers in residence to eleven. Top Cat and Millie will remain in temporary housing on the site until enough funds are secured to expand an existing den building by adding another habitat and pools for the cats.

Pre-registration for this event is available in advance for $25 per person. Entry at the door will cost $30 per person. To pre-register, visit and use any major credit card or bank check by secure electronic transaction. Pre-registration may also be made by phone at (260) 636-7383 or in person during weekends leading up to the event, between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m.

Attendees must be at least 21 years of age and present a valid photo identification in order to enter the sanctuary. The event will be held outdoors, rain or shine, and some shelter from inclement weather will be available. In the event of chilly temperatures, a bonfire will be lit.

Be sure to bring extra funds to take advantage of Black Pine's always great silent auction! This is the only silent auction held to benefit the animals, so be sure to plan to shop!
