IT’S A FAMILY AFFAIR - RACE UNITY DAY

1:00 PM until 8:00 PM
Face-painting, arts & crafts, chalk sidewalk drawing, and mask making will continue through the day. A drawing for door prizes will take place every 30 minutes throughout the day.
Children’s Race Unity Workshops will take place from 2:30 until 5:00 PM. Kids from ages 3 – 12 years old will be able to focus on arts & crafts including creating African masks, kite making, beads, and necklaces. Learning about drama, becoming an author, and storytelling with an international flavor as well as a puppet show on the history of race unity activities in American history will be offered.
From 5:00 until 6:00 PM everyone will enjoy a performing arts program with dancing, singing and skits. More talented volunteers are welcome to join in!
The FREE! Race Unity Day Summer Picnic plus fun activities and games will close out the day from 6:00 until 8:00 PM.
The National Spiritual Assembly of the Bahá’ís of the United States established Race Unity Day in 1957 to promote racial harmony and understanding. It is celebrated on the second Sunday of June.
