Event Description
Saturdays and Sundays, May 12, 13, 19, 20 (Open House) 1:00-5:00 pm
This will be an opportunity to learn about local plants, animals, and history in preparation for leading nature hikes and staffing the Moser Park Nature Center this summer. It is a chance to gain confidence, share knowledge, spend time with like minded outdoors-people, and become a steward of our natural resources.
Workshops will be held to introduce potential Volunteer Naturalists to the wide variety of activities and learning to be experienced in New Haven Parks. Attendees will get familiar with the resources available to use for teaching others about our local natural wonders. This will also be a chance to contribute ideas for new innovations in our programming and displays. We hope to provide an environment of creativity and inspiration with expert guidance for our volunteers in this workshop, so that they may help pass these things along to the community.
Workshops are “Open House” style, stop in for as long as you like. Please register with Jodi Leamon at (260) 749-2212 or jleamon@newhavenin.org. Those interested in volunteering but unable to attend are encouraged to get in touch to make other arrangements.
