FORT WAYNE, Ind. (www.incnow.tv) -- In this week's episode of Cool Science Monday, Martin Fisher from Science Central will talk about the science of insects.
Martin shows some live insects, called Madagascar Hissing Roaches. Cockroaches are a type of insect. Like all insects, they have an exoskeleton, segmented body, 6 legs, antenna, compound eyes. There are thousands of species of cockroaches, found all over the world.
These particular insects are from Madagascar, the island off the coast of Africa. They also make a hissing sound when air comes out of holes, called spiracles, along their bodies.
