Cool Science - 10/28/13: Lizards (VIDEO)

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (21Alive) -- In this week's episode of Cool Science Monday, Martin Fisher from Science Central will talk about lizards.

Lizards are a type of Reptile, along with snakes, turtles and crocodilians.

Martin showed a type of lizard called a Spiny-Tailed Lizard. The edges of the scales on their tails are very sharp and pointy. They’re used for defense. The scientific name is Uromastyx.

These lizards are found in Northern Africa and the Middle East, where it’s hot and dry. Most of their water comes from food, and they can survive in temperatures of 120F.
