FORT WAYNE, Ind. (21Alive) -- In this week's episode of Cool Science Monday, Martin Fisher from Science Central will talk about a type of plant called a Mimosa.

They are found in Central and South America. Mimosas are sensitive to touch. When Martin lightly touched the leaves, it initiated an electrical impulse, which caused water to move from the leaf to the stem, and the leaves and stem wilted. This doesn’t damage the leaf. It’s only a temporary decrease in water pressure, also called turgor pressure.
