FORT WAYNE, Ind. (Indiana’s NewsCenter) - In this week's episode of Cool Science Monday, Martin Fisher from Science Central will talk about the new exhibit called Mars in 3D.
The exhibition was developed by the German Aerospace Center, Germany’s equivalent of NASA. They built a stereoscopic camera that was attached to a European Space Agency probe called Mars Express.
The value of having a stereoscopic camera is that it allows scientists to see Mars’ surface in 3D, allowing depth perception, that way they can tell if the rover is approaching a mountain, or a crater.
The exhibition will be here all summer.
