Believe it or not all the fees in your mutual fund do not have to be disclosed to you under the “expense ratio” that they show you. The average expense ratio of a mutual fund is around 1.3%. But those are not all of the costs. There are other costs, not reported in that expense ratio that can make a fund two or three times as costly as advertised. Meet with an advisor who has the knowledge and experience to crack that mutual fund open and show you what is really inside.
