"I have a teacher who has inspired me to become a teacher myself. She helps students who don't English to learn and understand it. This year, we had a number of Burmese refugees come to our school. She sees all of these students every day. When these students need help, they know they can rely on this teacher. She not only teaches them the English language, but also helps them to adjust and fit in at their new school. She should be recognized for her dedication to these students."

Congratulations to Cindy Fiedler, the March recipient of the Golden Apple Award.

"I don't want to take all the credit because I think a lot of it is the students and the people I get to work with, so... I love my students, though..." says Cindy Fiedler.

And they love her especially Lindsley Gaskill who assists Mrs. Fiedler in the classroom and wrote the nominating letter.

"Thank you... I'm still... I'm still in shock..." says Cindy Fiedler.

In shock, but also proud. Not only of her accomplishments, but of the ones her students will make in the future because of her.
