Spain (Indiana’s NewsCenter) - Researchers in Spain may have a new, less invasive way to reconstruct the breasts of women who have lost a breast to cancer.
The process involves taking fat from the abdomen or hip and taking stem cells from the fat. The stem cells are used to renew the breast.
Since this is the patients own fat, there is no chance of rejection. This is a way for the breast to be reconstructed with natural components.
The process may be in use as early as 2014.
