March is National Frozen Food Month, so Mr. Food went to the supermarket to check out all the cool, super buys.

For those who don’t have time or who’d rather not cook, the supermarket freezer aisles can be your best friend, and at great value! For those who love to cook, these aisles can help us save time and money.

Because there are so many super deals waiting for us in the supermarket freezer section, it’s a good time to stock up on our favorites and try new items, too, such as:

  • Appetizers: There’s a host of appetizers on hand for last-minute gatherings, and no one would even know that you started them from frozen.

  • Food of various cultures. There’s a huge variety of items from around the globe, as well as food representing down-home comfort.

  • Good-for-us veggies, harvested in season at their peak of freshness and flash-frozen to hold them that way so that, all year long, they're available, nutritious and fresh-tasting!.

  • Frozen fruit. As with vegetables, we get the same help from frozen fruit. There are now frozen berries, melons, rhubarb and even pineapple waiting for us in tip-top condition, eliminating the worry about fresh fruit spoiling in the fridge. Just think of the pies, cobblers and smoothies we can make!
