Ingredients

Frozen Iced Tea
Air Date: 6/12/2008

10 to 12 servings

6 tea bags
6 cups boiling water
1 cup sugar
1/2 cup water
6 tablespoons fresh lemon juice

Directions

  1. Place tea bags in a 9" x 13" baking dish. Pour boiling water over tea bags; let steep for 10 minutes. Remove and discard tea bags.
  2. Meanwhile, in a medium saucepan, bring the sugar and water to a boil over medium-high heat. Remove from the heat and add to the tea along with the lemon juice. Mix well and let cool to room temperature. Cover and freeze for at least 6 hours, or until firm.
  3. Remove from the freezer and scrape entire mixture with a fork until fluffy. Serve, or spoon into a freezer container and keep frozen until ready to serve.
NOTES: Garnish each scoop with lemon slices and mint sprigs, if desired. This should last for up to a month in the freezer.
