The Beauty of Natural Skincare

By Jennifer Blomquist

Oatmeal mask? Honey moisturizer? Avocado oil?

All skin care products... already in your pantry.

Lily Organics has been blending and bottling natural skincare products for 25 years. Lily Morgan is willing to share her secrets to a more natural look.

"Not all the universities and all the people with all the PhDs in the world will ever come up with anything as effective as rose hip seed oil," says Morgan.

A problem with dry skin? "You can even just take an avocado, make it into a paste and apply it to your skin," says Morgan.

Oily skin?

Morgan's solution, "You can just apply yogurt. You can mix honey and yogurt with oatmeal."

Baking soda for itching...

"When you put this in your bath, it helps to alkalize your body, which can be really beneficial," explains Morgan.

Her book reveals these five things you should avoid... Number one, avoid synthetic colors... listed on labels as f-d-and c, they're potential carcinogens. Blushes and eye shadows contain up to 50 percent talc, which has been linked to respiratory damage. And watch out for nail polishes and moisturizers that contain something called "dibutyl phthalate" - it can cause reproductive damage.

So read the labels carefully... Lily believes you're safer staying natural... "It just shows you the beauty and versatility of Mother Nature,"she says.
