Judy: Our sign attracts a lot of people and the building style so I’ve had people say never change that, and so we pretty much stick with this.

FOR 43 YEARS THE MAGIC WAND HAS BEEN CHURUBUSCO’S HOMETOWN EATERY AND FOR 43 YEARS OWNER JUDY MYERS HAS PRESIDED OVER THE PLACE.

Judy: Well I tell everybody all the employees never put out anything you wouldn’t eat yourself.

Everything’s cut up fresh everyday. Our onions our lettuce we make our own slaw, tartar sauce, and people seem to like everything we have.

AND LIKE ALL GREAT EATERY’S THE MAGIC WAND HAS SOMETHING EXTRA…AND NOT JUST THE DOZENS OF GREAT ICE CREAM TREATS..

Greg: The food is good but what’s even better is the atmosphere and people that you know, young people old people.

Barry: I’ve been coming here for over 20 years. I like to talk to people and enjoy conversation and things. ‘That’s important when you come in to sit down and eat’. Yeh, you want to feel like you’re home kinda like Cheers, everybody knows you name and that’s the way it is around here.

GRANDPARENTS WHO CAME HERE AS KIDS NOW BRING THEIR GRANDCHILDREN. AND YOU’LL LOOK HARD TO FIND A GROWNUP WHO DIDN’T SPEND AT LEAST ONE SUMMER AS A TEENAGER WORKING AT THE WAND.

Judy: My grandkids say there isn’t anybody who hasn’t worked here because they’ll run into somebody at school, ‘Well my mom worked there’. Yea, we’ve had a lot of kids.
