Spatz Avenue Shooting Victim Identified

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (Indiana's NewsCenter) - The Allen County coroner has identified the man who was shot dead late Saturday night on Spatz Avenue.

The coroner’s officer says that David Wilson, Jr., 50, of Fort Wayne is the 11th homicide victim in Allen County this year.

Police responded to the 4600 block of Spatz Avenue on reports of shots fired just before 11 p.m.. Police found three people inside a tan Nissan. Two of the three suffered from gun shot wounds.

The driver, Wilson, was pronounced dead at the scene. A woman in the backseat was taken to the hospital in fair condition. A third passenger, a male in the front seat, was not injured.

Police say the Nissan was on Spatz Avenue, and the vehicle was hit by gunfire.

No arrests have been made.
