FORT WAYNE, Ind. (www.incnow.tv) - Nurses at Parkview Community Health will offer free flu mist vaccinations to children who qualify on Friday and Monday.

Eligible children either have no health insurance or are on the Hoosier Healthwise program; and must not have asthma, diabetes, seizures, heart conditions or other chronic conditions.

Vaccinations will be offered in Fort Wayne from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Fri., Jan. 11, at the Carew Medical Park, 181 Carew St.; and in Warsaw at K21 Health Services Pavilion, 1515 Provident Dr.

Each year, an average of 20,000 children under 5 years old are hospitalized with the flu, officials with Parkview Health say. Eighteen children have died nationwide from influenza related complications since October.
