FORT WAYNE, Ind. (www.incnow.tv) - A man convicted in a Fort Wayne murder that happened more than a decade ago was sentenced to 65 years in prison Friday morning.
Joseph Kast was found guilty of killing Claude Berkshire, 85, in Berkshire's Juliette Avenue home in 2002.
During the sentencing hearing, Berkshire's daughter told the courtroom the family has forgiven Kast.
Allen County Judge John Surbeck originally ruled Kast was not mentally stable to stand trial; that decision was later reversed, and Kast was convicted in December.
Kast was previously convicted of murdering a Huntington couple, for which he received a 55-year sentence.
