Man Seriously Wounded, Shot In Robbery Attempt

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (21Alive) - One man was shot in the chest early Wednesday morning after a robbery at Willow Creek Crossing apartments.

Around 1:10 a.m., Fort Wayne police were called to the 7200 block of Lakeridge Dr. According to police reports, the a female victim told police that there was a knock on the door and two men barged in yelling "where's it at?" and "give it to us".

The woman told police she curled up on the floor with a pillow covering her face and she believes the robbers left her alone because she told them she was pregnant. She also told police that she didn't believe the robbers took anything.

A male victim was found lying on the floor of the dining area with an apparent gunshot wound to the right side of his chest.

The man was taken to a hospital, and listed in serious condition.

One suspect is described as a light-skinned black male, wearing glasses. The other is described as being armed with two handguns, with a red scarf around his face and dark knit cap pulled down over his eyes.

No arrests have been made.
