Man Killed After Fight At Gas Station

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (21Alive) - One man died Thursday night following a fight at a Fort Wayne gas station.

Around 8:30 p.m., authorities were called to a possible stabbing near the intersection of Wayne Trace & Drexel Avenue.

Police found a victim in near the intersection. It is unknown if the the man had a gunshot wound or stab wound, police say. He was taken to a hospital in critical condition, and later died.

Police say the victim and another man got in a fight in the parking lot of the Clark gas station at Wayne Trace & Drexel Avenues.

Witnesses tell police a pick-up truck fled the scene. Police later found the truck. The man driving the truck was detained as a person of interest.

Preliminary charges have not been charged.

The cause of the fight has yet to be determined, police say, but the fight was not gang-related.

Police say it has not been determined what relationship either man had to the gas station.
