IMPD: 2-Vehicle Race Leads To Crash, One Man Shot

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind (21Alive) -- A two-vehicle race on Indianapolis' northwest side has resulted in a crash and one man being shot, according Indianapolis Metro Police Department.

Around 10:30 p.m. it was reported that two vehicles were racing down the 7000 block of West 56th street and one of the vehicles, a black SUV, was firing a gun a the other. This chase eventually led to the car receiving gunfire to crash into a tree.

Police arrived at the scene of the crash and found a man shot in the leg and a wound on his head. He was taken to the hospital in stable condition.

Witnesses stated that two men were also in the car that crashed but fled the scene. Police are currently searching for these two men and for the occupants of the black SUV.
