FORT WAYNE, Ind. (Indiana’s NewsCenter) - A Fort Wayne woman faces a neglect charge after police say she left her 3-year-old boy home alone.

Police pulled over 28-year-old Christina Ellen Davis in the early morning hours of July 9th for diving without her headlights on.

According to court documents when officers approached the car, they detected a strong odor of marijuana coming from her vehicle.

She denied smoking anything, and told the officers she was on her way home to her child who uses a feeding tube and was being watched by a neighbor.

Police took Davis to lock-up and went to check on the welfare of the child at the home. When officers arrived at the home they were able to hear the child screaming from outside the home.
