FORT WAYNE, Ind. (www.incnow.tv) - An Auburn man who admitted to beating a Fort Wayne man to death last August was sentenced Friday in Allen County court.

Michael Alexander, 34, will spend 50 years in prison after pleading guilty in June to voluntary manslaughter in the death of Gregory Funich, 42, of Fort Wayne.

Funich was found dead inside a home in the 5300 block of Lonesome Oaks Ct. on Aug. 11, 2012.

The Allen County Coroner's office ruled Funich died of blunt force trauma to the head.

Alexander was arrested by the IPFW Police Department after police say he was pulled over for driving with a flat tire and fleeing the scene.
