FLORIDA (Indiana's NewsCenter) - Florida's attorney general wants his state to have an illegal immigration law that's “tougher” than Arizona’s.
Republican Bill McCollum, who's running for governor, has proposed a bill that will include a requirement for police to check a suspected immigrant's status during traffic stops, and for businesses to check the immigration status of workers.
Illegal immigrants would also face tougher penalties in Florida.
Most of Arizona’s new law is on hold while it's being sued in federal court.
