Austin Hatch Continues to Show Improvement

TRAVERSE CITY, MI (Indiana's NewsCenter)--Austin Hatch continues to recover in a Michigan hospital.

The teen was in a plane crash a that killed his father Doctor Stephen Hatch and his stepmother Kim.

Doctors say Austin's brain swelling is not a concern and he continues to show improvement.

Meanwhile, according to the National Transportation Safety Board, Dr. Hatch was attempting an instrument flight approach near Charlevoix, Michigan when he crashed his single-engine Beech A-36 plane into a residential garage.

The cause of the crash has yet to be determined but the report does show less than two miles visibility with mist and a low flight ceiling.
