KOSCIUSKO COUNTY, Ind. (21Alive) -- The Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department, along with the Berrien Springs Oronoka Twp. Police Department, and the Federal Bureau of Investigation are seeking the public’s assistance into the identification of a suspect believed to be associated with three bank robberies in two states.

Law enforcement officials from the three agencies are requesting help in identifying a suspect who allegedly robbed three banking institutions, starting with the Leesburg branch of the Farmers State Bank on July 12th.

The suspect at that time was described as a Caucasian male; approximately 6’00” to 6’02”, mid to late 50’s, wearing a ball cap, and having grey or white hair/sideburns, with either a beard or goatee that appeared to come to a two-prong or fork-style point at the chin area. It has also been noted from surveillance video that the suspect has a gated walk or limp and continually wears tennis shoes.

The suspect reportedly parked a silver or grey, early to mid-1990’s station wagon, possibly a Chevy Cavalier or Escort, in the area of the bank prior to the robbery.

Since that incident, police believe that the same individual, as well as his vehicle, were involved with robberies from the Community Wide Bank of Granger and also, the Honor Credit Union in Berrien Springs, Michigan. F.B.I. officials have provided Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department detectives with additional still-footage that might assist in the location and apprehension of the suspect.

Individuals with potential information or leads are asked to call the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department at 574-267-5667 or the anonymous TIP line at 574-372-2494. Citizens may also call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-342-STOP and you will be given a code number.
