Barricaded Suspect In Custody

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (www.incnow.tv) - Officers of the Fort Wayne Police Department responded to a call of a domestic disturbance in the 2600 block of Princeton Ave. early Tuesday morning.

According to officials, police made contact with an adult female occupant. Officers were advised that there was an adult male inside the residence and that he was armed with a handgun. The suspect was reported to be suicidal and made threats to harm others. Officers set up a perimeter around the residence and called for the Emergency Services Team (EST) as they attempted to contact the suspect.

Officials say, the Allen County SWAT Team took the suspect into custody after he was found hiding inside the residence. The suspect was transported to a local medical facility for a mental health evaluation.

There are no criminal charges at this time. The incident remains under investigation
